| High school had come and gone within a blind of an eye. Standing there at graduation I couldn’t believe that I was finally done and moving on to college. It started to scare me just a little bit as I walked across the stage to receive my diploma. My summer after graduation was amazing. First came all the parties that seemed like they wouldn’t end. The parties along with work made it seem like I wouldn’t get any sleep that summer because my graduating class as approximately four hundred students. Along with all these parties I also had to go to work almost everyday. I work as a beach lifeguard, which was a ton of fun. I had friends off all ages who worked with me. Besides the friends I worked with my friends from high school would always come to the areas of the beach where I was sitting on the stand. Sleep wasn’t an option until my family annual vacation down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. This was because I worked all day in the sun and partied until about 3:30 in the morning. Then August came around. I claimed my last day of work and all my co-workers were sad to see me go. They threw me a party that night and had my friends from high school there as well. It was really depressing to say good-bye to my friends because I was going the furthest out friends. They were all staying within the New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland region. Where for myself, I was heading up to Massachusetts to Bentley to play lacrosse. Early the next morning beams of sunlight were coming through my window. Then as I start to wake up my brother Brooklyn comes busting through the door. I jumped and fell off my bed. “What on Earth are you doing. Why are you in my room.” I yelled. “Oh little Hayley Ann is all grown up. She gets to move into college today with me. This should be an interesting day meeting your roommates for the first time.” I got up off the ground and made my bed. As I was doing so my mother came in while my brother walked out. She was crying because I was leaving home. “Mom stop crying please. I’m going to be fine. I’ll call you everyday like I promised.” “Okay honey. Why don’t you get dressed so we can get a move on. It’s going to be harder to move your brother in this year than it was last year plus we also have to move you in as well. I can’t believe he’s taking all seven of his hockey sticks, his three helmets, and his two sets of padding. He has more stuff than everyone else in the family combined.” “Hayley are you even close to being ready. And are you two talking about me again.” “Brooklyn Andrew shut up and get in the car. You just woke her up and she’ll be ready in a few minutes.” My mother kissed my forehead and said “Now hurry up so we can get a move on.” Then she walked out of my room. I quickly got dressed and put all my last minute items into my bags and put them in the car that had my stuff in it. We needed to take two cars up because all of the stuff wouldn’t fit into just one car plus Brooklyn was allowed to have his car on campus this year. It was a long drive up Bentley. I slept most of the way there. When we got there I picked up my laptop, got my room key activated, and then we started to move my stuff into the room. Both my parents and my brother helped move my stuff into my room and organize it.
